62. Why has been the idea of veganism spreading so slowly so far?

<<

- The Man, with his unnatural way of life and eating, has had a long-term dull taste for the variety and fineness of vegetable food.

- This creates a psychophysical dependence on heavy and excitative foods from dead animal bodies. The greed dulls the ability to perceive the truth.

- The body and the mind thus hold each other in captivity, and the man, enslaved by pleasures, finds it difficult to distinguish truth from half-truth or a lie and thus does not see consequences of his actions. He does not associate and does not want to associate in his mind a neatly wrapped salami or cheese from a supermarket with the enormous suffering of a living entity that preceded its production.

And therefore - let's not get bound:

- neither by the exuberant desires of our senses

- nor by the distorted conventions of the “spirit of the times”

We are people equipped with ability to feel, reason, conscience and the opportunity to learn from experience and see the context. Let us be conscious rather than passive beings!!

Nevertheless, it is necessary to mention one last, a very fundamental aspect that discourages people from veganism: it is, unfortunately, some vegans who are too inappropriate in presenting their views to non-vegans. Let us remember that even 100 self-truthful arguments will not convince another person to change, if he/she perceives even a little arrogance, fanaticism and the like behind these arguments. The best way is to be such a good living example that people will start asking you about your reasons for veganism on their own.
